Default Police spec front brakes on 2011 v70 d5

Hello
I have a 2011 v70 d5 police spec. The front disc and pads need changing. I know the front pads are special order from Volvo but are the discs standard from another model as look bigger than what I have seen on other v70's ?
Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Can you measure the diameter ?

That's all I did when I replaced mine. The originals were 316mm diameter, and the position of pads in relation to the edge of the rotor was spot-on.

There's isn't a whole lot of clearance between the outside of the disc rotors and the inside of my Canicular wheel rims, so I wouldn't have thought there would be much room for larger disc rotors unless you've got 18" or 19" wheels. Are your calipers further out from the hub than on a usual V70 ?

Thanks for the reply. I have the 17" wheels and there seems to be a bit of clearance from outside dia of disc to inside of wheel.
So presume I also have the 316mm dia discs

You'd have to measure the diameter to find out, and even then there's no guarantee the previous owner fitted the correct size. I guess it's possible the police-force fitted larger brake calipers, and hence need large rotors ?

I've never known what my car came with from the factory. I just remember when I typed my car reg into the 'parts finder' for websites from Eurocarparts, Andrew Page etc... I had a choice of 300mm, 316mm or 336mm. I had to take the wheel off to get a good measurement and it turned out to be 316mm.

In terms of whether that is the correct size for my car's calipers, the photo below shows the new rotor and pads installed (both Brembo) and the pads are as close to the edge as possible, without any risk of overlapping. I've got the same at the back too (slightly smaller rotor).

There are 3 sizes of disk listed for the P3 v& xc 70s 316mm being the most common, a smaller one that I cannot remember the size of and 322mm I think from memory. Mine were the 316mm so I never memorised the others.
I used mintex disks and the info came from my motor factors data sheets.
The police spec does run bigger brakes so would think the 322mm would be favourite but as others have said measure them is best.

Paul.
