Can you tell me which Winter Tyre did the CrossClimate out-perform? I couldn't find it in the reviews you linked to. Thanks.

There's quite a variety of possibilities out there, I'm no expert but, there's what one might call a basic conical headed bolt like a countersunk wood screw (with various taper angles), a spherical headed bolt where the 'taper' is ball shaped, or some with a flat connecting surface like a captive washer.
Using the wrong one would seriously compromise the fitting regardless of the type of the tyre.

I have normal summer Mitchelins tyres with pressure and temp sensors in the tyres. When it was zero degrees outside the temp in the tyre after several miles were from memory approx 15 to 17 degrees. that's measures inside the tyre so not sure what the outside surface would be.

So the the theory that winter tyres are better when temps are below 7 degrees!!!

Will check external temp and tyre temp on the way home today.

And your point is?

I am sure that the inside of your car is toasty and warm when it is freezing outside but that means nothing either.

Here is the actual (US) review from the video linked above.
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests...y.jsp?ttid=231

However, if you look at this review from Autoexpress, the Michelin CC is NOT the best in snow.
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accesso...r-tyres-tested

This is a good site for other reviews, including European tests.
http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk

The general consensus is, I think, that the Goodyear heads the list for All-Season performance, closely followed by the Nokian. Despite the slightly lesser performance of the Michelin CC in snow, it is safe to say that any of the premium brand all-season (or winter) tyres are infinitely better than summers treads in snow. Many drivers over the past week simply don't know what they are missing by running on summer treads.

Default Tyres for Summer & Winter

I have been using Falken Euroall Season AS200 tyres on my V90 (1997) and have no problems so far. I had them fitted just over a year ago. The size I have is 205/55R16. Hope this might help.

Not saying winter tyres are no good just an observationon tyre temps, that's all.

My misses car and my previous car I had put all season tyres on.

What I want to know is which Winter Tyre did CrossClimate "out perform" in winter condition testing?
