Auto shifter light bulb replacement
I know this has proberbly been covered before, but can anyone tell me how to replace the shifter light bulb in my 1996 940, i've removed the center tray, lifted up the selector with p n d
(ect) as far as it will go up the stick, the white plastic part is now exposed but just how do you get at the bulb, the plastic strip that slides within the white bit came out, hopefully that just goes back in with the peg bit towards the gear stick ? The photo's show how far i've got, do i need to remove the side panels to get at it ? Can anyone please advise, david. |

I found the best way was to loosen the side panel and approach from below but even then it was still a pig of a job. I wrote up my experiences in page 2 of this thread, the whole of which might be worth a read. I believe others have got at the bulb from above but I couldn’t work out how to dismantle the clear plastic bit without removing some impossible looking star washers.
