Default Seat Belt Warning Light

Thought this may be interesting to those who cannot put up with that irritating beep, beep , beep, beep, before engaging your seat belt.

I had a look last night at the cable running along the seat belt holder. Under the drivers seat are two male/female connectors. I unplugged the white one, and hey presto. The warning light has now stopped functioning. The heated seats still work fine.

It can be easily re-attached if required for the MOT. I always drive with my seatbelt on (not pulling out of garage or driveways etc), but that immediate irritating noise has now gone.

Many years ago, when i used to tow gliders around airfields at walking pace with my old 244,i stopped the dreaded noise by simply removing the bulb from the warning light.Dont know if it works on later cars !!

I found mine useful as a warning that my (looked to be original Volvo) car battery was knackered! My seat belt warning was only working intermittently (as in not beeping consistantly) the two weeks prior to my battery giving up the ghost.

New battery - it worked fine again! The beeping doesn't bother me as I usually put my belt on first thing.
