Default Forte Additives Anyone Used on Volvo?

Has anyone used Forte diesel additive or other products? Thinking of using it on my Volvo XC60 D4 as it's using a lot of oil since i purchased last year. It has 100k with history but been told could be oil seals or rings. Apparently the Forte products help this and the car uses less oil.
Has anyone had any experiance with this or what is the problem with the car using a lot of oil. I've used around 5 litres in 7k miles

...and quite right too.

Snake oils only mask issues.

Once any additive has burnt off or worn away you're back to square one.

I have in the past tried Forte on worn valve stem seals. Lasted a couple of months but ended up changing the seals.

What investigative work was done to arrive at the conclusion you have been provided?

Every now and then someone asks about an additive that's supposed to clean the fuel system. It is snake oil....

If there was such an additive that could dissolve the built up grime, it was start by dissolving the sh*t in the bottom of the tank, the fuel filter and then passing that through the HP pump, regulator and injectors. Not what you want...

The only cleaning operations worth doing are when you run the engine on it neat by interrupting the fuel supply such as Liqui Moly Diesel Purge.

Car was using a lot of oil and was suggested it could be valves or seals, thought this stuff might work? After taking the car for a service did notice oil leak from a pipe from the bottom of the engine was covered in oil

I know garages that use Forte diesel fuel treatment as part of annual servicing (Not Volvo garages). I haven't come across any that use it for the purpose of oil leaks though.

In your case, you'd need to use a seal conditioner. Forte sell a product called "Forte Seal Conditioner", which is for worn valve stem seals and/or worn rear main seals. There's also another product called "Forte Oil Fortifier", for high mileage vehicles using excess oil. I haven't used any of these personally, so I can't say whether they actually work or they don't. Reviews suggest they do work, but I can't vouch for it personally.

Obviously, use of either of these products or any other additives for that matter is a risk you take. Everyone on here could tell you all day long not to use them, but at the end of the day, its up to you whether you heed that advice or not. I can't offer any guarantees that any additives will solve your issue though, but I do understand that you probably don't want to spend much investigating why your car is losing oil because all the potential culprits take time & therefore money to investigate. However, I highly doubt any additive will solve your oil leak issues permanently though. It may be just a quick fix if it, or they, if you decide to sample more than one additive do anything at all!

If you do decide to use any additives in your engine, don't be expecting a permanent fix. Just to reiterate, by adding additives, you do so at your own risk.
