Default v60 key

Hi all, my V60 d3 had a small bump on the back and the car went in for repair, it was in for about a month for what i could have done myself in a day, bit of bodge in the bumper, sprayed and a few plastic trims replaced.

however we had accidentally left the spare key in the car as I think that I picked up both sets thinking I didn't have one, I always have loads in my pockets.

when it returned I didn't notice for a few days but one set had gone from the car, my house door keys which I also left in were jammed down the seat and my dash cam was shoved into the centre compartment under the arm rest. the car was driven back to me at work by a couple of valeters who looked like they had just had a smoke before hand.

The garage is denying all responsibility stating they never remove anything from the cars.

anyway, my question is, can you buy a second hand key and have it programmed? or is it dealer only and at what cost?

thankyou in advance

I was quoted about £250 couple of years ago, after purchase of key, then reprogramming of car and new key.

Price is about right.

As a matter of urgencyI would have the missing key deleted from the car so that it cannot be used if has fallen into “the wrong hands”.

Thanks to all who replied. Looks like a cap in hand to Volvo and bite be the bullet. Not quite as bad as I was expecting about1500
