There’s been an earlier topic where someone reported having bought one.

You replacing your D4 or getting a second one in B5 guise?

Replacing the D4, comparing it to the D5 R Design it is a disappointment, hence the extravagance of a rapid change.

I think it's the step down in grunt from the 5 to 4 that is the concern.

Sounds expensive so soon after delivery of the D4

It was also the suspension and smoothness (or lack of) on the D4 that caused the swap.

The ride of the curent vehicle is very wallowy cf the 2014 vehicle.

The D5/B5 will certanly give you more grunt- but the swap will cost you dearly.. Seriously, why not try P*-ing your car and see if the engine/transmission remap does it for you?

Or try Heico engine tunning and springs.

Haldex - I agree - however addons etc have their cost and impact on value and desirebility so I am taking the easy way out, the B4 version of R Design had much nicer roadholding and I expect the B5 to have the extra grunt.

The moral from this sad tale is to never move down a version of a product be it a car, a camera, a hifi system.

SWMBO drives a B4. My opinion is that the mold hybrid has significantly improved throttle response and 'eagerness ' over the D4.
