Default How Easy Is It To Remove The Center Seat?

Because the center seat (second row) doesn't fold completly flat I'd like to take it out occasionally to get more headroom when I carry stuff. It slopes up when it's folded down and it restricts the headroom a lot at the top of backrest when down.

It's not obvious to me how it comes out. and of course it has all those sensors on it as well.

Not sure about removing it, if it's not in the manual.....

Have you trieds sliding the seat as far back as it will go, and then raising the head restraint a bit? From memory, I am sure it is the head restraint that stops it lying flat... Also before doing this, try removing the armrest/centre console (clip at bottom rear) as this allows the centre seat to slide a lot further forward, again this ma help...

I've checked and it's the thickness of the squab and seat back that stop it laying flat. When I slide it forward with the back down the back of the seat hits the drivers seat too soon for it to be of any use. It needs to come out altogether to give the room I want. I saw the rails have a couple of bolts at the back, but the rails seem to run under the floor at the back.

The middle row centre seat has a pre-tensioner for the seatbelt installed; this is linked to the supplementary restraint system on the vehicle.

Removing the seat will bring on the air bag warning light and the rest of the system (air bags, pre-tensioners) will not function in the event of an accident.
