Travelling in Europe
Hello All
Doing a mini tour of Europe later this summer and have the RTI Sat Nav Unit in my 2006 XC90. It doesn't seem to have any European countries in it (other than Wales!) which is slightly surprising, although my 2003 S60 with Sat Nav is able to get me all round Europe without a problem, even though I programmed it from the M6 earlier tonight to go to Perpignan (a very long way). So, when you are in France, does the Sat Nav unit recognise this and put the French maps up, or are there separate dics required - no doubt at huge expense from the local Volvo dealer? Any help/advice greatly appreciated. RM |

Sat Nav
Talk to your dealer as I know the later Sat nav systems have an internal hard drive that the map is loaded to, hence no discs with the car. Not sure how you go on for the European maps, as you say you probably will have to buy them.
Paul.

All sorted.
The DVD I had covered North Europe and not France. Went to the Volvo dealer and reminded them that when they sold me the car, I had asked the specific question about whether the Sat Nav covered all of Europe and they said it did. So, new disk supplied, and even better, the old disc goes in my S60 and upgrades it to include TMC - winner all round. RM |

Well, not quite!
The new Sat Nav disk now means that the radio and sat nav cut out every 60 seconds - doesn't happen if you take the disc out and put the old one back in. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and more importantly, managed to resolve it? Have contacted the dealer to see what they are going to do about it! Checking the Volvo website, I don't seem to have the latest disk as the part numbers aren't matchin g up, although the disc says it does work in an XC90 up to 2006. RM |
