1996 940 2.3 LPT manual estate for sale (Dorset)
Sadly due to health problems restricting my ability to work full time, I’ve got to thin the automotive herd a little.
So, I’m offering up my lovely 1996 940 estate for sale. Some bullet points: 117,733 miles Tropic Green Metallic 2.3 LPT Manual with M90 Four Toyo Nanoenergy tyres that are less than 800 miles old SE spec with half leather, seats in good order No sun damage to door cards, but NSF does have a dent in it from Mrs AHKV closing her handbag in it! MOT expired last month so will need to either be trailered or driven to a test centre. Runs and drives very well, but the Lambda light came on just before the MOT expired along with an uneven idle symptom-I’m sure the two are related but I don’t have the time, energy or money to sort it out. Sounds like it may be a vacuum leak somewhere. I’ve had this car for around five years and have enjoyed every moment of owning it. It’s been maintained religiously (I’ve changed oil and filter every 4k) and has never let us down. We have kept it very clean and as far as I can tell it’s rust free. Obviously it’s a 27yr old car so if you go over it with a magnifying glass I may be proven wrong, but there is certainly let no structural corrosion of any sort. I fitted a brand new genuine exhaust from Volvo four years ago, but it could do with a new tailpipe and silencer strap now after a particularly salty winter last year. It could do with a few odd jobs doing as usual with these cars (touch up and detail, has a minor oil leak which seems to be around the PCV area etc, whatever is causing Lambda light and grumbly idle) but it’s a lovely old bus which has been so much loved by me, my wife and the kids. It’s been the vehicle for countless road trips, adventures, school runs, naps in the back with the seats down, games of I Spy and so forth. The kids have never been allowed to eat in it though which has gone a long way towards keeping it nice! Mileage is low-I bought it at 74,000 and the last 43k I’ve put on it in the last five years. Five original Pholus alloys, four with a set of barely used Toyo Nanoenergy boots and one with a good spare. I had to choose between selling this and my diesel GLE, which was a heartbreakingly difficult decision, but the diesel is staying because I made a promise to the previous owner to keep it and keep it in good order. I’m in Sherborne in Dorset. I’d like to see around £2000 for this car but am open to listening to offers. I’ll try to attach pics in following posts. Ta! Phil
