A Farewell and a Thank You

Time takes its toll. In my own case making entry/exit of my beloved S60 ever more difficult. The driver was the problem, not the car which I still rate the finest "drivers" car I have ever owned.
I do not like/trust the new Chinese fords and have therefore now gone Japanese with the purchase of a Lexus RX 400H, (P/X the S60.) It is superb and everything I need, (but it does not put a grin on my face!) Such are the deprecations of age!
And so a farewell to this forum and its many knowledgeable and generous members. I thank you for your advice, freely given, the benefit of your collective experience was invaluable and the humour irrepressible. I hope to find similar in my new home within the Lexus Owners Club.
My parting gift to any member who would find them of use:
A set of S60 transverse roof bars.
A S60 Haynes Manual (4793) 2000 - 2008.
Both are free to collector .

An inch makes a difference. Our punto is taller than the V70 and makes getting in and out a tad easier. Parked on a slight cross slope with a bag in hand, exiting the V70 can feel like climbing out of a hole in the ground.

Thanks for all your help over the years, when I've been searching for issues your name has cropped up in threads time and again. While you're off to pastures new, you'll certainly go on to keep helping others!

Hello, Regarding the existence and usefulness of forums in YOUR future.
I've visited and used forums for the following.
1)Ford trucks
2)Jeep
3)Chevy trucks
4)Toyota (for non-modded car info)
5)Subaru (for non-modded car info)
6)SAAB
7)Volvo
8)Infinity

With 1,2 and 3 the help and usefulness were quite readily available. Lots of people drive these vehicles everyday and many of those people are mechanically inclined.
Many keep their trucks a long time.

Come 4 and 5 and you're into passenger cars maintained more by checkbook than dirty hands. Performance upgrades for both these marques are "parts installation intensive" and from what I've read it seems these kids drop off their delivered parts to a shop. Common repair help is unexpectedly difficult to find.

6 and 7 represent a marbled swirl from engineers, bargain finders and clueless family drivers. It's a healthy mix the posts from which require time to sort.

Infinities, #8, seem to be owned by no do-it-yourselfers. I found nothing but an assortment of unanswered posts when I set out to help a friend with hers.

I hope you fare better when you go research your new Lexus.
Everyone says, "It's on the internet" but that's not always the case.
