Centre console fixing points are 2 below the heater panel (pop off the little pen holder panel) not to be confused with 2 in the same place that hold the heater panel in place. 2 at the bottom of the box under the arm rest and that's it IIRC. Watch a YouTube vid if unsure. Pop off the handbrake surround first as well or it'll get in the way of removal.

Depending what you mean by wobbly though that might just be standard to be honest they are a properly rubbish design. You can stop them squeaking by adding little wedges or foam padding underneath but it's only making the best of a very cheap made piece of plastic lol. It's probably the worst thing in the car

Brakes sounds like you're already on that

Rear load cover good luck they're crazy expensive in anything like good condition just watch ebay and see if a decent price one comes up

Boot floor mats are easier, not rubber as such but cheap well fitting plastic ones are easy to find on ebay. It's enough to protect the carpet that's the main thing

Rear door is more awkward replacing the lock mech is easy enough again just look it up on YouTube. (If that's what the problem is...) but obviously getting the door open in the first place to do the job would be the tricky bit

Thanks very much, most helpful.
Any idea why the blue light on the dash doesn't come on when you put the full beam on ?
Hopefully just a bulb but I've never had one go before. Thanks again

Dunno.. the dash pods can be a bit iffy especially the older ones dry solder etc so maybe that's starting to happen on yours any other signs of issues? Or as you say just the lamp

Do the main beams actually come on

Main beam comes on fine. I wonder if it's an mot failure though. There is an orange triangle on but you can't see what the issue is as the pixels on the message window are knackered

Can the dash cluster be swapped without having to code it in etc ?

I had a 2002 with your probs.
High beam indicator light failure is oft cited as the first symptom of the array of failures caused by low lead / cold solder joints. Dead "gauges" etc. are what people fear.

Removing your cluster is simple. Send it off to a cluster fixer and you get yours back. In your case, the lower left language box may be restored. I remember reading you can drive with the cluster removed. I never tried.

I sold my '02's load cover in response to a "wanted" ad; got $75, 10 years ago.

Perhaps placing such an ad here and on other Volvo boards would help you.
Ask at a breaker to learn price.

depending where you are in Essex you might be lucky

one of the really well known diagnostics and electrical repairs is in Tilbury https://volvodiagnostic.com/

one of the guys actually lives near canning town so for me it was even easier, he popped in to mine on his way past on the A13 to program in a new throttle body

just remembered re centre console there's also two bits of trim along the bottom edges to remove.. one in each footwell, big plastic turn-screw thing to undo and then slide one way or the other to pop off.. yeah just find a youtube vid first you'll work it out no trouble

just wanted to bring to your attention in case you were tugging away and swearing at it lol
