Default XC90 bike carriers

Hi all

Can anyone offer advice on XC90 bike carriers?

I'd probably prefer to opt for something that goes on the back of the vehicle, rather than the top.

Experiences/advice welcomed...

Thanks!

Hi

I bought the bike carrier from Halfords. It was around £50 - I bought the 3 bike carrier - have used it 2 or 3 times. The first time you put it together proves a bit of hassle but once you get use to it then it takes about 10 minutes to put it on the car. The times I've used it it has proved fine and I've driven long distances.

The one thing I would recommend is that when you put it on the car and load the bikes up. Drive for about 20-30 minutes then stop and re-tighten all the straps as they tend to loosen up when you first connect it to the car.

If you have a tow-bar you can buy a nice looking bike carrier from Thule - the advantage of this is that you can still open your boot with the carrier on the back of the car however this comes at a cost as it bike carrier is quite expensive compared to the Halfords one.
