Exclamation s80 warning message..........

One to ponder ever, an intemittent fault, oh joy!!

With thanks to a certain member on here who has plugged his Vida/Dice in for me.... Since this code reading (at the bttom of this thread) the fault has again appeares and subsequenlty disappeared leaving the SRS Airbag Service Required message behind.

My 03 (o4 model) S80 Bifuel has an intermittent problem....... what happens is...........

= all electrics in passenger door stop working (mirror, central locking) except electric window which can still be used from the switch in the passenger door but not from the switch in the drivers door
- key fob does not work
- central locking works but only by using the key in the drivers door - but passenger door is not included in central locking and needs to be locked by the button in the door
- red airbag light stays on permanently
- no warning triangle of any colour
- this fault does not first appear when car is in use - it happens between journeys i.e. between when when car isswitchd off and started. It also clears itself between when car is switched ed off and started, last time was about 5/10 seperate journeys.
= when the fault clears itself it leaves the SRS Airbag Service Required message and a yellow warning triangle.

I am no expert but I suspect that there is nothing wrong with any components and that the problem is an electrical supply fault to the passenger door??
Any help/advice very welcome

Other than this irritation the car runs like a dream. By the way, not borthered by the first two codes - the auto wash/wipe sensor is purposely disconnected as I prefer manual wiper control and i'll get the vacuum cleaner out to clear the air sensor code!!

PS I had decided to buy a Vida/Dice from Ebay but can't find one that runs on either Windows 9 or XP that are on my two laptops - any ideas? If not it looks like an Autel is the route to go?

Check the wiring under the drivers seat (Unplugging will set the SRS warning again if cleared so take care).

It is a common fault for this wiring loom to get caught in the mechanics of the seat adjustment get trapped and short out.

Take a look just in case.

p.s. Dice from ebay will be fine, someone did post a link for aliexpress which was about £60 delivered from China
