460 CD Turbo - Free to a good home!

Hi there folks,

My 460 sadly has to go - we need space on the drive and I just don't have time to work on it. It's based in Huddersfield area and free to anyone who can take it away on a trailer (it runs but the MOT has expired).

It's done around 31,000 miles and has comprehensive service history to back this up.

Mechanically the car seems to be basically sound. There's a blow in the exhaust and both rear tyres need replacing.

Bodywork seems to be pretty rust free (arches looked clean last time I checked) though the rear bumper needs refixing on one side due to a car park incident.

The interior is in good condition with the rear seat looking like it's never been sat in.

Overall it's great condition for a free car if you want a project. I wish I had the time to do it. I have a few spares floating around (including a pair of new rear shocks) that I'll throw in.

Someone please get in touch - it's way too good to send to scrap but I really do need the space of our drive ASAP.

Good news guys,

I've had 3 people PM me as a result of this post and all seem genuinely interested.

In the interests of fairness my plan is to let it go to the first person who is able to give a firm commitment that includes a definite collection date. If possible that collection date should be before the end of this month.

Thanks for your interest - it's still anyone's at the moment but I'm sure that'll change...

Just to check that people know, this is an auto rather than a manual.

I'm sure it says this in the posts I link to from the advert but I may have accidentally missed it out of the advert text.

It's currently still available but I have a couple of people I'm waiting to get back to me with propose collection dates.

Hi just reading this and woundering is the car still available?? I have a 95(m)460 sat on my driveway with a bilstien suspension kit + alloys and I need to replace the clutch and sort out the brakes/bodywork before I can use it again. Im up in co Durham and can come and get it tomorrow if you like?

Would just like to say a big thank you to Pete for this car. We got back ok last night and today i've been out doing a few odd jobs on her. The rear bumper has now been fixed and the alloys and lowering kit have been swapped over from my terminaly ill 460. The rear of the car has now been lowered 40mm whilst the front will be done tomorrow once I can free the bolts on my old car. Just like to say this car is in imaculate condition and a real credit to its former owners. Even the spare wheel,jack and wheel brace had been untouched in the boot! For the MOT I need to replace the centre section of exhaust and one tyre so hopfully she will be on the road again shortly. Heres a couple of pics with the replacement wheels....

I will be starting a thread in the project volvo section soon.
