Default V70 Missing

My 1998 V70 (2.5, 10v) has developed a habit of missing - occasionally. It started before Xmas, but then cleared completely and happily did a 250 mile trip. It has now come back again, intermittently but not quite at random. It tends to happen when accelerating as in leaving a roundabout or pulling out onto a major road, but can be avoided if I drop a gear lower than I would expect to use. I'm not talking about heavy acceleration, just getting up to the normal road speed in traffic.

I've had a full 12k service, but it's still doing it. Any ideas?

Default Odd miss

Plugs, leads, rotor and dissy cap would be a good place to start. Apart from the plugs, these tend not to be sevice items surprisingly, given their vital role in the process.

From my own experience, plugs need to be changed at 30k intervals - with the right replacements, the other bits maybe every 50k.

It's all very easy and cheap to do - and hour, a few basic tools and a Haynes book are really all you need.

At the very least it would be worth taking off the dissy cap and rotor and cleaning them up, and carefully checking the leads for any sign of deterioration - doing that will cost you nowt!

Good luck
