Is there any particular way of removing the rear washer jet from the tailgate (940) ??

Don't want to force it and break it

I think the pipe to the jet is leaking some how

Cheers !

Are you sure it’s leaking there? That is not where they usually leak. There is a non-return valve, I think behind one of the rear lamp clusters, that is the normal source of problems.

If you look up pictures of the part, 1369855, you’ll see it has fairly severe plastic barbs that will probably break if you try to remove the nozzle. Probably worth having a spare available.

You cannot access it from the back so will be limited to trying to pry/manoeuvre it out. Heating it up, prying with a small screwdriver or suitable instrument and maybe trying to tilt it to get one edge out first might work but I’d say it’s 50:50 something will break.

Good luck.

Thanks all for your posts. The washer is now working OK. My Volvo expert at DMW in Merton found the leak and replaced the pipes. So all is fine now.

Thanks for your reply, managed to ease the jet out in one piece

The hose fits perfectly no issues there, just wondering if water from the jet outlet is getting inside the window seal

There is dried water spray marks on the inside of the rear window exactly where the spray would be on the outside of the glass

The boot tray has water in washer side, if I have been using the rear washer

Will have to get the other half to operate the washer whilst watching the jet
