Re: OTT
Sorry 'duncan' but four successive posts in the same thread is way OTT - and I hate to disappoint, but this isn't a bloody auction house - the guy said £1250, your offering £1300 and trying to outdo everyone else is plain tacky!
Frankly, I hope the car goes to a long established member from here - at least then we have some idea where the car is going and the kind of home it's getting.

Hi folks I was just wondering if Duncan Raban was related to Adrielsmith90,As his grasp of the english language bears some similarities?
I'm not having a go at his inability just his short and to the point way of speaking. The adrielsmith90 character was mentioned on the admin section for possibly being a BOT,(computer generated) I would surely love to see Duncans collection of pristine cars mostly GLT's maybe just a few photos would be nice to drool over.Such a caring And wonderful photographer surely would love to promote his specialist subjects.IE volvos and photography. Did he buy the car TRS or is it still up for grabs? Regards Brian. |

Yes he did buy the car because I was waiting in the wings if he had not turned up yesterday! The seller was very apologetic! Now still looking see post 2 above!

just to let you know that the car has now been sold , as you may appreciate it has been a very traumatic time for me over the last few weeks and it was not my intention to offend any of you as you have all posted such lovely comments about the car , i am really touched by all all off your comments and i know my dad would have been . as mike warren said i have offered my appologies to him personally and thanked him for his interest . having met duncan i can tell you he's a genuinely nice guy who was not just interested in the car but all the stories that went with it , and he asked if he could see a picture of my dad . he also wanted to meet my mum , which he did and he told us that he likes to keep the cars as the previous owners did , for example there were some stickers that my dad had hand wrote on under the bonnet , which he said he would leave on as it gave the car its own personality . once again i hope this has not offended any of you , having been a volvo trained technician for 7 years i know volvo owners are great people ( had 4 volvos myself spanning 18 years ) just as my dear dad was , thank you , stuart.

Hi Stuart Glad to hear the car has gone to a caring owner and that he respects the way it is and will preserve it too.
It's just that when somebody joins suddenly and only posts four times all to do with the purchase of a car and offers more than advertised it looks and sounds very strange. He hasn't been back here to contribute nor should he,it's just that someone who obviously loves his volvos doesn't appear to want to share his passion with other fanatics? I still hope he can see that despite the previous posts that we are nice folks on here and would truly love to see some of his collection. we quite often get new members offering imaculate cars for us to value and then sell it elsewhere and don't bother to tell anyone who have shown a genuine interest to buy. I hope you find the time to visit us every now and then even if you don't happen to own a volvo at present,as a technician you would be very welcome. Kindest regards Brian. |
