Exclamation 1.9 diesel limp mode? help!!!!

Hi all i have a mitsubishi carisma which has the same engine as a v40 diesel and it keeps going into limp mode i have recently cleaned the egr valve inlet manifold changed maf sensor and map sensor and it still goes in limp mode on the motorways! it has 200000 miles on it i service it every 5000 miles. it does not use any engine oil leaves a plume of smoke when its on boost which is at 3000rpms ( is it normal for a diesel to boost at 3000rpms?) i have checked vacuum hoses all of which are fine actuator moves freely so what can this be? i have previously been driving like a grandad so it wont rev over 4000rpms and looses its boost at that rev range so i cant even do a italian tune up.
any help will be appreciated thanks in advance.

you may have to have the codes read and cleared. even though you've chaneged maf ect. code will still be logged. try leaving battery dis connected over night, this may reset codes.

I have tried numerous times to get the code read but it never shows any fault and dont store them i have tried disconnecting the battery quite a few times but its still the same.

The engine block might be eactly the same, but when it comes to the rest of the compontents, Mitsubishi, Renault and Volvo used quite different components and configurations. So I am not sure how much we can help here. THe MAF you bought, was it an original one or an aftermarket one from ebay?

I got the maf from a v40 estate at the breakers since i could not afford a new 1 it made a great amount of difference in low rev range but was still the same in the higher rpm's. would you know what readings i should expect from the maf and map sensors??

When did you last clean the EGR valve and inlet manifold out?

about 2000 miles ago i came across bio toxics post and he realy made it look easy tbh there wasnt much carbon in the egr valve as i would have expected as i drove it for 98000 miles with out ever cleaning it. the inlet manifold was clogged really bad all 8 holes were almost completely clogged up.

Cool

I think there seem to be 2 possible causes, firstly the MAF unit from the breakers has a fault, or because you mentioned smoke then this could be a turbo related problem. Is there any smoke visible at idle when hot or when you hit full power in the past?
Inspecting the turbo is not too difficult and assuming it and the various pipes from the turbo are in good order, then the next best thing if you don't want to go to a stealers for an opinion is to find another MAF unit etc.

i dont have any smoke on startup cold or hot just when i get into boost i see greyish black smoke in the rear view when someones behind me turbo pipes are all fine no leaks i am starting to believe it is the turbo but hope not. i have tried a good maf from a mates car and my car still goes in to limp mode.

Greyish black smoke can be either over fuelling or lack of airflow.

Can you try swap out the turbo control solenoid with your mates one? It's located on the bulkhead, the one with vacuum hoses going to it.
