sunroof trim and washers
My t5r has been sat in my mums garage for nearly two years, its now sat outside full time.
I have noticed that the rubber seal around the sunroof is lifting can I fix it if so how? Inside the car its starting to rust around the sliding roof part!!! The washer jets have almost packed in. I have bought a new motor and filter but no luck!! its like there is no pressure I get a watering can effect rather than a jet on the front screen and nothing on the rear screen!!!. I have cleaned the jets???? Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks in advance Dan |

Morning Dan If the rubber seal has swelled then it looks like a new seal will be needed i expect.. It appears the seal is allowing water ingress, hense your rust... The front washer system has two diverter valves that, apart from splitting the water direction, serve as a system to prevent the water dripping back into the resevoir so that excessive pumping is not needed the next time you need the water..The valves can leak and pressure will be lost from there.. One is a T shaped and should be down by your filter to serve the headlamp washers (if fitted) and the other is a F shape, red and is under the bonnet insulation pad and splits between each bonnet nozzle housing...Check both of these are not leaking..Maybe set up a bypass direct from the pump to one nozzle.... The nozzles react well to a good soaking in Coke, not the diet or powder variety either...!! Cheers Jod

Cheers Jod I am going to set up a bypass direct from the pump to one nozzle. See if I get pressure...
Any ideas how easy is it to replace the seal for the sunroof? I am clue less don't want to take out old seal and be unsure how to fit new one. Dan |

Found the reason for no pressure Its the F shape, red and is under the bonnet insulation pad and splits between each bonnet nozzle housing thats at fault, its spitting out water.
Tried to order one from main steeler they had no idea what I was going on about. Does anyone know if I can buy them individual or do they come in a set? |

Giving the jets a good soak in Cillit Bang (off the car) is pretty effective at clearing them out - it worked a treat on my 740's
