Default Vacum issue D5 2004 165bhp

OK.
The message Engine service required appeared with the car loosing power.
It resets when switched off.
I have the generic code P2044.
I have checked for vac by removing the feed from the solonoid (small mounted on air box) to the engine mounts..the vac was present on idle and died about 12K revs.
I checked the vac to each engine mount..all ok
I have removed the tubo boost valve and cleaned it
I have cleaned the EGR
I have checked the turbo acuator under vac pressure and it works fine
I have checked fuse 11..all OK
So what am I missing here?
any help would be appreciated

Read this thread: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=132443

Really need VIDA to see what it's doing. In my case it was seriously over-boosting because the VNT mechanism in the turbo was getting stuck under load, fixed with a s/h turbo.

But - you should check everything else mentioned in that thread first.

In my case, if I repeatedly booted it, got the message then reset, after 3 or 4 cycles the turbo/VNT was hot enough for the issue to go away for a while, and I then could boot it without going into limp mode. Yours may be similar.
