Default Japanese to Euro radio spec?

I’m looking at a Japanese imported XC70. I understand the dash language etc can be changed but what about the radio?

Does anyone know if the different frequency band is a software issue that can be changed or does the radio and/or other bits need to be replaced?

Start by identifying the Model Year (MY) of the affected XC70

XC70s were built from 2000 to 2016, with very different generations of electronics over that time-frame.

P2: 2000 to 2007
P24: 2007 to 2016

You can do all that and more by using VDASH from D5T5. All you need is DICE and a laptop. You pay per sngle item you want changed, (not the 400 Euro subscription). I am currently checking it out to upgrade my monochrome DIM to colour TFT version which I hope to do on Saturday.

Did you ever sort this out, and if so was it with VDASH?

My car had been converted by the importer when I bought it but when Volvo converted the car software from Japanese to UK it must have overwritten what the importer did as it now only has Radio 2. Volvo say the Jap head is different to the UK one, but clearly this radio will take UK frequencies. If VDASH works I will get it rather than faf around fitting a UK head.

Hey, Bob, I've no experience with VDASH but you could speak with Matthew over at Swedish Vehicle Diagnostics (not SAAB) or his other site ModUnlock.
