Help,Rear lower engine mount XC90,2007,185hp,automat.gearbox
Hi everyone. Im facing a real problem. I've changed all the engine mounts except for the rear one, it's real pain in the a.. I jacked up the engine all the way up untill it tuched the body and coudnt go any furder. I put the jack at the back side of the gear box.I removed the lower bolt and the upper nut of the mount as well as the vaccum hose and the shield. The mount was free un my hand. I tried turning it arround in every possible way and it wouldnt go out. Lifting the engine up and down milimeter by mm and nothing. Then I slacked the subframe(or the cross member) only the LH side as well as the steering rack bolts and it went down but not enough to let the mount go out. Any suggestions how to remove the rear mount? Am I missing anything? Would it affect the work of the new mounts since it is completely shot? My XC90 is D5,185hp,Automat. transmition, MY Nov 2007?Here is the link with pics. Thanks. https://drive.google.com/folderview?...VVqUkpTR3J2clk The folder's name is XC90 D5 REAR MOUNT in case it doesnt open directly.Thank you in advance.

Hi,
If you can't take the old one out you wont be able to put the new one in for sure. try taking the car to a garage, a mechanic should be able to do it for you. I changed all the monts as well (same car xc90 D5 2007 Auto 185 ), the car on the elevator, tall gearbox jack to raise the engine, al the tools you can imagine and man the rear mount was a pain in the ass, me, my wife and mechanic friend spend about two hours to remove it, all three trying to sort it out. i don't think it is something you could do by yourself at home. Cheers. |

Rear mount comes out OVER the top of the engine, not underneath. Do a search for replacing rear mounts. There are a couple of us who have posted descriptions and photos on the topic.
