Like a lot of similar threads we have to agree it is 'horses for courses' and I don't expect I'll ever be in a position that I would have a car this way, but for Auzwa's purpose of a reliable car for 9 months it seems like a good idea. The PCP method which has become popular for cars in my eyes is not that far off of a rental scheme as it is often intended to hand the car back at the end of the period albeit the period for PCP is fixed at a few years. The only other way that might be appropriate is what my daughter did for quite a few years after she got married, she lived within easy walking distance of her work and hubby got a train from the nearby station so they didn't need a car on a regular basis and didn't have a lot of cash either, so they just rented a car for the weekend or week if they wanted one for a holiday or such.

Hi Auzwa!
Nice to meet you! My name is Ivy from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. We are doing our master thesis regarding the car subscription economy. We plan to learn from some users who have tried car subscriptions to explore consumer experiences, which will bring valuable insight for automotive companies to learn more about their customers and improve their service and strategies. I saw one of your posts say you have tried a car subscription.

Can I DM you for more detail information?
