Default Passenger seat no longer locks in place

Hi,

2005 (mk1) C70 convertible, suddenly the passenger seat slides without the front latch being lifted. First noticed when I braked hard and nearly put my 12yo through the front windscreen!

I'm going to take a look at it today but does anyone have any hints or tips as to what to look out for or what may have caused it?

I would expect that in common with most vehicles, the seat slider rails have a series of holes in them and when you raise the lever to adjust the seat position, it lifts a pin from the current hole and relocates in your next chosen position.

Check that this pin is still spring loaded via the lever so that it will automatically find the nearest hole. Also check that the pin is still actually intact. 👍

As above^^^^^^

The seat catch is purely mechanical. Most likely a broken spring or pin.
