I would be livid too. I would be asking for a new rim. I would also be asking the Service Manager to explain to me why I was not notified of this damage and the options for putting it right.
Thats my concern, I've never had a wheel refurbed before and thought it was mainly for scuffed, single colour alloys - no idea how they would begin to repair these wheels. I'm waiting on a response from them at the moment.

2 ways - paint and blend or recut. You can only recut a diamond cut wheel a couple of times and you can only take off a microscopic amount each time. But it is amazing what they can do (and you have no idea what they had done to your 9 month old wheels before you bought it to be honest!)

Highly unlikely they will offer a new wheel (retail maybe £500 or more) when fantastic repairs can be done....

I`ve had damage done at a dealers to an alloy wheel not diamond cut but the repair was perfect. I found the morale in the story is never ask a non tyre related garage to actually change a tyre they often don`t have the experience, but thats hindsight.

One of the issues was a slow puncture, which was there when I bought the car, and they repaired it no problem. however, when I got home from collecting my car I found they had damaged my alloy - 20 inch diamond cut beauties! They have dented the rim in two places and scuffed the spokes - blamed on the apprentice apparently. I was absolutely fuming but they say they will repair it and it will be as good as new. Had anyone any experience of a repaired diamond cut alloy and how well it will look and perform over the longer term? Should I insist on a new wheel?
UPDATE!

Well, it's taken almost 2 months but I have a brand new wheel courtesy of my local Volvo dealer.
First, a mobile alloy repairer they use regularly was going to repair the wheel but on inspection, he couldn't do it so recommended a specialist alloy repair company in Manchester. The wheel was sent to them and they basically butchered the wheel - taking so much surface off the wheel that the grooves in each spoke (approx 5mm deep) were flat! They then painted the missing grooves black (the service guy showed me a photo and it looked like a child had done it). This was obviously rejected by the dealer and they purchased a new wheel at a cost of £550 - which, presumably, they will invoice the repair centre for.
Whilst it has been frustrating and unnecessary in the first place, I have to say Stoneacre and the service manager there have been excellent in dealing with this. Credit where credit is due and I'm happy with the outcome.

Sorry to hear about your issue but I am glad you had a good outcome. I had something similar happen to me...

I purchased a MY18 XC90 from a dealership at the end of July. Almost straight away I noticed that there was a strange vibration at certain speeds (posted on here about it) and took the car to ATS in Reading to have the wheel balanced checked. They did not even get the wheels on the machine before they noticed that there was a large flat spot on the front passenger side wheel.

I got onto the dealership straight away but they did not want to know and said that the wheel was inspected when the car left (they even fitted a new tyre) and the damage had been caused by me. The argument went on for a few weeks and my position was that they needed to replace the wheel. While all this was going on I figured that the wheel was leaking air as I needed to refill it ever few weeks.

While I was arguing with the dealership, I took the wheel to The Wheel Specialist in Maidenhead (very highly recommended) to see if they could repair the wheel. They identified that there was a crack in the wheel which was the source of the air leek. As wheel as that they identified that the wheel was beyond viable repair as there was not enough material left. Like your wheel the surface was flat.

Long story short, the dealership replaced the wheel (unfortunate circumstances meant that I had to take a 400 mile round trip to avoid being stuck in Yorkshire) and I am happy enough now. However, as all the other wheels on the car were more than fine and the car itself is in really good condition, it is my strong suspicion that the dealership switched the wheel on my car for the wheels on another car. It is the only way i can explain why one wheel on the car was totally trashed and the rest of the car was in great condition.
