I am about to buy a V40 cross country T5 and am wondering if you can answer a question the dealership cant!
The car in question is a 17 plate and I am trying to find out if the 2 litre 4 cylinder engine is of the new drive e type. I’ve been told that only the Diesel engines are drive e but have read somewhere that the 4 cylinder petrol models are also drive e engines.
Can you shed some light on this for me?

yes the petrol and diesel share the same basic engine .. you have GDI technology on the petrol as the fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber like a diesel . Just as in the old S/V40 with the 1.8i engine of 1998 ... so you should be able to get some decent mpg cruising around without getting to 60 in 5.8 seconds every time ...
