Sorry, still awake Only the 2000MY 2.4 V70Rs had 265bhp.

Motronic automatic Rs have identical engines to a normal T5, so a 16T turbo and 240bhp. Manuals had an 18T turbo and 250bhp (and an LSD).

The ME7 versions were all automatic, but kept the 18T and 250bhp, and the very last of them got the 2.4 engine, 19T turbo and 265bhp.

Yours has 240bhp, and is basically just a T5 with pretty bits bolted on. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

cheers

James

mine isnt a me7 engine, it has cable operated throttle, and as far as im aware, it isnt just a standard t5 turbo, it has more power than my t5 which is 240 bhp. im pretty sure the s70r this era is 265 bhp.

Cable throttle = Motronic, hence an auto has 240bhp and a 16T turbo just like a normal T5. Check the handbook if you don't believe me Parkers have the numbers for the S70Rs all screwed up, but they're accurate for V70Rs...

Motronic (cable) manual (250bhp):
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/review...te-1996/13714/

Motronic (cable) auto (240bhp):
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/review...te-1996/13715/

ME7 2.4 AWD auto (265bhp):
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/review...te-1996/16727/

Not that it matters...the FWD auto with 240bhp is still quicker than a 265bhp AWD auto because of the weight of the AWD system. The FWD manual (250bhp) is the quickest of the lot. Didn't actually intend it to turn into a threadjack, sorry.

cheers

James

i dont take it as a threadjack, i take it as constructive chat.

its how to learn by getting info from others.

ps update. volvo on ebay for £1250 ono when i rebookit for mot. it failed on front brakehose, and rear outer axle bushes. ive ordered all the parts and it should be moted next week, when i can get it booked back in, just waiting for parts delivery.

if someone wants to give me £1100 before the mot, including all the parts, id accept that. but after mot itll be more cos ill have to pay the garage for the pabour fitting costs of parts.,

I notice that the ebayers are not allowed to know about the hole in the carpet, and the broken window switch?

you also make is clear on here, how you 'could fix this up yourself', but now you are paying a garage to do it?

YEAH,

im paying the garage to do it cos the brakes will need bleeding after changing the hose, and i cant seem to be in two places at once, in the car and at the front nearside brake hose.
