White 240 estate se for sale
It is with deep regret, I am looking to sell "Noah" he is on a 93 plate (L reg), I bought him from Minty over a year ago and have loved him since. My reason for selling??? I cannot keep up with the fuel costs, so I need to get a smaller sized engine car.
MOT until May 14th 2013 and Tax until September 2013. He is in daily use and has never let us down, I have driven from Norwich to Preston and back in day without missing a beat. When we had the snow, he sat there for over a week covered in snow and started first time when I needed to use him. Mileage? Unknown as the trip does not work, but comes with a used unit, not sure if it works but is included. Manual gear box, which works great. Now for the bad bits, Needs a full service, wiper blades need changing all round, nearside headlight wiper does not work (motor gone??) some water in the well passenger side, however this has not increased since I put Rad weld in the header tank, I think the leak was coming from the gold coloured bit on top of the heater matrix. Rear wheel arches a bit crusty, nearside rear lens discoloured but the lights still shine bright, missing the aerial, thanks to some kind person, some small amount of marks on the paint work in line with age (after all he will be twenty in August!!) On steel rims with Volvo wheel trims. Door pockets cracked (as normal) analogue clock stops working when no power, never really bothered me as I adjust it each time I drive Noah. Cigarette burn to drivers seat (small) Missing the handle to drop the back seats, but I think you can still get one from Rufe(?) rip in the covering of the rear seat (in the boot) and the carpet in the boot is a bit stained and sandy. Missing part of the rear tail pipe (was like this for its MOT and passed with it) Has developed a rattle only notice it when going over really bumpy road surfaces (I think it has to do with the suspension mounts, but not really sure, again was there when he had his MOT and never mentioned) Rear wiper only works when on all the time and the intermittent does not work. Central locking can be a bit temperamental but I have just got used to it. The advisory for the MOT was both front tie end track rods have some play. Good bits, snow mats, a white front grill (never seen one before on a 240) Front skirt is white but really needs repainting, heated seats work, electric windows all work but can be slow apart from the drivers as others not really used (Silicone spray could sort this out) Heated wing mirrors work (drivers side coming a part, but a used one is included) Volvo 240 dog guard (I bought this off Lanky Tim) Some really funky blue lights that come on when you open the doors (all ready fitted when I bought him) Sony radio cassette with leads to the back for a multi disc changer unit. Tow bar with electrics (not sure if they work as never used the tow bar) Blue velour interior with all head rests and inserts. Also comes with half size roof rack and the digital ambient temperature gauge works. There are probably other bits I have forgotten but as I remember I will add to the post. Noah has been used for what he was built for, carrying dogs, people and furniture. He is no show car and he has been smoked in. We will really miss him, but with things the way they are and not looking like they are going to get better, I really do need to downsize, I don't want to put him on Ebay, I would rather he went back to someone in the fold. Pictures to follow when I can get my son to take some and will add them. Any questions please PM me. As for price? That is a good question not really sure I have a price in mind but ask away and you never know it might be the right price, but open to offers. Cheers Andy.

Just realised by looking back over this post, it makes it sound as though this car is a pile of s**t, but I think most of the work needing doing is perhaps just minor stuff?? The car has never ever let me down, not just once. It has always always started without fail and I would not hesitate to get in it and drive any where.
Any way here is the link to the pictures https://plus.google.com/photos/11410...JeMo_7atsPYowE Been thinking about price, so I guess £350 would be good?? and If no one else would like the parts for sale I would put them in the car to make the price £350. If interested please get in touch or he will be sold to last journey for banger racing as he needs to be off my road as there is limited parking.

A very late model indeed first registered in Manchester on 30-08-1993.
Engine size 2.0L. A useful car for spares maybe? I think it has the correct wiring for turbo conversion? Not really sure but something makes me think the later cars had LH2.4 or somethink.Don't mock me but feel free to correct my poor knowledge Lol. Does this one have antilock brakes? My K reg does but a rare option on later cars. Regards Brian |
