Default No beep when roof operated

Hi all,

The manual for my C70 says the windows should drop slightly while operating the roof and there should be a beep or chime when the roof has finished opening or closing, mine does neither. The roof seems to be working fine, and I've only closed it once when the windows were all down but I'm pretty sure the windows all came up when the roof had finished.

Is this something to worry about and if it is wrong any ideas what I should be looking for?

Thanks

Next time I try it I will listen a bit harder then, although I am pretty sure there is no beep. It doesn't beep if you open the door and you've left the side lights on either. Our V70 beeps if you do that so I would have expected this to as well, could that be linked at all? Presumably there is a little speaker somewhere for the beeps, anyone know where that is so I can investigate further if needed?

the c70 wont beep if the lights are on and the door opened with ignition off or on as none of the classic X70 series have that function out the factory

Oh ok. The Mrs just said I'm an idiot and the V70 doesn't beep when you leave the lights on, I could have sworn blind it did! Lol. Well the V70 is her car and I don't really drive it that often at night

I'm really bad for leaving lights on, I'll have to watch it or I'll be stuck somewhere with a flat battery!

As long as you leave the lights on permanently as soon as you remove the key the lights will go off its only when there on the 1st click they will stay on with the ignition off.

As long as I get into the habit of not using side lights then I should be alright, either off completely or straight to dipped headlights

Yeah if you want to turn the headlights off to keep the silver good and use the side lights as drl you can remove a couple of wires from the switch and it will use the side lights as drl's whilst the switch is in the off position so you never have to use that on the switch.

That is definitely something I would be interested in! Just did a quick search and it says all you have to do is cut one of the wires behine the switch, is it really as easy as that? If it is then time to order some side light led bulbs and get the wire cutters out!

This should work

To disable the headlights and leave just the side lights working which will switch on/ off with the ignition with the Master lighting switch in the 0 position you need to lever out the light switch, locate pin 5 which should have a Green and Red wire in it, cut this wire about 2" from the connector and tape up both ends. Headlights are only switched ON when the Master light switch is set to ON, Sidelights will come on and off with the ignition switch and Sidelights are still available with the switch in the mid position should you want to leave the car with parking lights illumninated. NOTE when you flash the lights with the indicator stalk ONLY the HI beams will illuminate.

To enable dash lighting at all times lever out the Master lighting switch, locate pin 8 which should have a White and Black wire in it, cut this wire about 2" from the connector and tape up both ends, ALL your dash lights including switches and heater control panel will be illumninated at all times the ignition switch is on.

If you ever want to return the car to standard simply use "Choc-Block" to join the wires together
