Dear Friend,

My car is an S40D 2010 and I bought the DRL from Ebay and not from Phillps and it has ONLY 2 wires , black and white.

Can you PLS help me or instruct me where to connect these wires so it will be always light ON .

Also, where can I find PDF with all manual and spare parts for 2010.

Thank you in advance.

Not as bling/bright as the other ones but I'm happy with them. A real professional kit. Robust, waterproof and long lasting looking.

They stand slightly proud of the fog inserts ans Ive angled them as much as I can so that they point straight ahead.

I had to epoxy glue the units into the fog insert as theres not enough lip on the bumper to install the brackets. I used a black gutter sealant from Poundland to fill in any gaps around the edge.

With the Philips units it sys to connect red to battery, black to battery and orange to sidelight so that when you turn off your sidelights, these come on. However we all know Volvos work differently and the sides are always on so I connected the red to the sidelights and left the orange wire so that the units stay on all the time when the engine is running.

Hi,

I bought the Phillips LEDS off Ebay as they are metal, robust and fully waterproof with red and black wires.

You need to locate the sidelight wires which are within the headlight unit and are attached to the sidelights. You then need to put a simple connector block on these wires or solder your black and white wires to them. I assume black is negative(earth) and white is live for your leds. Ideally check with a multimeter which wire is live that leads to the sidelight and the other must be negative.

The pictures below show you the sidelights and wiring.

Thank you for your great reply, but using this way will cause the daylight to operate ONLY when the sidelights are ON! and not when the main switch is on...
I'LL check it again tomorrow and let U know.

Also, anyplace to get an PDF for parts to my model? just because I had an accident in my front wheel and I had to replace the ABS wire which is behind the wheel and the new wire came with 2 side connectors and I cannot "C" where to connect it, or maybe I bought the right wheel wire and not the left one. This is "Y" I need some manual book with parts list .

Thank you anyway

Guys I'm a little confused.

I have a set of Philips Daytime 8's. I would like to fit them to my C30 but you have to splice them into the sidelight wire to make them auto dim....the car already has automatic lights on with ignition so i'm confused as to where they should be spliced into now?

Any suggestions? Philips technical were a little confused too.

Its an 2007 C30.

I've asked my dealer to disable the auto headlamp function but they wont which is fair enough.
