Talking T5 intermittent stutter / reduced performance fixed

Since owning my V50, I have had an intermittent slight loss of power and stuttering / hesitancy on acceleration in certain conditions.

The problem typically presented when using my car to drive home after work and was worse when the ambient air temperature was under about 15C. It was most pronounced on a medium throttle and would improve after the first couple of pulls right through the rev range. The car would also shudder very slightly on idel. It didn't happen so often first thing in the morning when the car was really cold. In two years, this never produced a fault code.

I fixed the problem yesterday by replacing the fuel pressure sensor. My car had the Bosch 0261230110 part. This part was subject to a recall on some Volvo models in the US. I replaced it with a Bosch 0261230238. It was £34 delivered. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fuel-Press...-/232413959730

I also grabbed a set of long arm hex keys from Screwfix for £6 as the access to the T25 on side of the FPS is a bit tight.

The job took about 30 mins. Don't forget to put a bit of vaseline on the o-ring of the new part to help get it into the fuel rail without damaging it.

The car now drives and idles smoother and pulls stronger and cleaner.

I followed the steps in the first post of http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthr...-the-T5-engine
