Default Daylight running lights

Gents

sorry i know this has probably been asked a million times but how do i turn off my daylight running lights? I have a bulb blown and not time to change it. its a V40 diesel on a P plate. i read something like

turn lights on
turn key to position 2
pull lever forward for mainbeam
turn turn lights off
turn key off

"pull lever forward" does this mean just pull as if falshing or till it clicks...

either way ive tried lots of combinationsand still no joy....help!!

also any tips for changing bulbs ?

Thanks in advance

Only applies to S/V40 models from late '99 to '04. There was a thread some time back in the S/V40 forum on how to permanently disconnect the earlier models via the headlight switch. Some for/against the idea.

Personally I'd leave them on and replace the bulbs in pairs rather than one at a time. Replacing one at a time appears to be a repeditive process, you've no sooner changed the left when the right blows etc etc. There's also the fact that cheap aftermarket bulbs are false economy. Use Volvo long life or try to source Bosch, Würth, Philips (X-treme)...bit of a German trend going on there
