Nice touch
Had to brake a bit sharply today when I came round a corner to find a lorry across the road. When the car was almost at a standstill the 4-way flashers came on automatically. As soon as I moved off they went off. Never knew this happened.

Also, the brake lights would have been flashing while you were braking hard to warn anyone behind that you were braking harder than usual.

My Citroen C5 had this feature (not sure if the brake lights flashed, but certainly the four-ways did). Quite useful when needed (not that often). I think a lot of cars have this now.

Mmmmn, are you sure about the flashing brake lights?
I seem to recall that when some manufacturers introduced these some years ago they were quickly ruled illegal due to the requirement for a solid red light to indicate braking, hence why the indicators now flash as well as the brake lights coming on. |

This has been on Volvos since at least 2008 - my V50 strobes the brakelights if you brake hard enough to trouble the ABS/DSC and then puts the hazards on once you come to a standstill.
I've seen other cars do it more recently too.
