S80 V8 2007MY Volvo On-Call
Can someone please explain to me what Volvo on Call is on the 2007MY S80 V8 that i have just taken delivery of. I understand looking at the general Dr Google an alike what the newer systems are capable of but my car is from what i can tell is different to the newer modern Volvo systems. I have left message with a dealer to call me back with regards to explaining what it is and if i wanted it reactivating how much but im just getting nowhere fast and frustrated.
I would be very grateful if someone could explain what it does and how much approx to get reactivated. Many thanks |

Hi,
THIS may be your answer although it is the us site. All the "older" new cars have the on call function which allows contact with Volvo for assistance with your car. Des. . .

I had this in my 2005 model S80, from memory you could use it to summon emergency assistance, speak to Volvo to ask a question (nearest dealer etc..), they can unlock your car and tell you how much fuel. I never found any real information about subscription and costs - it came with the car, and when I sold it 4 years later still worked. Dealers (then at least) never really knew anything about it. I didn't have it fitted to my new 2009 S80.
The system on new cars is far more useful, but that won't help you.

The emergency call option always works, even if you don't subscribe.
And that's about what the old systems are about. From 2011 functionality started to expand, and that continues. The 2012 and the 2016 we have differ too. More Volvo on Call features on the latter. |
