Default Help!!

I am thinking of purchasing a 2015 T2 1.6 petrol v40.
Could somebody please tell me which engine this model has. Is it the Ford Duratec> Or the new Volvo engine I cant seem to find out which.
Many thanks in advance to any one who can clear this mystery up for me.

Thanksfor the quick reply. Is this a new engine developed by Ford? Looking for a bit of technical help and history if anyone can help on this.
Thanks for any replies

As above. From what I understand the block is manufactured by the Bridgend plant in Wales by ford but Volvo have added their own bits to it.

The 1.6L engines (petrol & diesel) in Volvo are from Ford. I don't know the extent of the differences, but for example the 1.6L diesel did get some extra/different parts that seem to have helped avoid/reduce the problems people have seen in Ford/PSA cars with the 'same' engine.

You'll see that on the V40 now, the T2 is a 2.0l engine from Volvo's new VEA range, and automatics use a 1.5l version.

One thing to note - unless you are getting a great deal on the 'nearly new' V40, in most cases it's cheaper to buy a new Volvo via one of the brokers such as drivethedeal.com - e.g. they have the Volvo V40 ES Nav T2 (122bhp) 2.0l VEA for £17k, £3k less than list.

Thanks to everyone who replied. Still a little bit confused but happy the engine gets good reviews and explains why the ecoboost engine is on the Ford Focus chassis. The Ford Focus is an excellent car.
