Question 2000 V70 Wont start!

Help!
I have recently purchased a 2000 2.4T Volvo V70
this morning when i went out to go to work i started the car and it started briefly and then cut out and it won't start now.

It turns over and looks as though it is going to start ok and just doesn't.
the only message that has come up once or twice is immobiliser see manual. so i look for immobiliser in the manual and there isn't anything.

RAC on their way but until then is there any ideas on why it won't start?

many thanks in advance
Jon

Clean the immobiliser aerial contacts and try it again, you can get to this by removing the three screws securing the binicle inbetween the steering wheel and dashboard, once the binicle is removed you will be able to see the ignition switch barel, the aerial is a ring around this with an electrical connector on it, clean both parts of the electrical connections - Mike

ok i have to say that the RAC came and were very helpful, it turns out i need to put this flammable liquid in a tank to make it go!

oohhps! feels very stupid now!

i live on a hill and put £10 in which didn't do much and the fuel wasn't being picked up.

The T5 I had was like that, If you were nearly down to the red it would be running fine until the next morning - the crown of the road was enough to stop the fuel getting through on mine. Following this I tried not to let the fuel drop below the last notch on the gauge, particularly if it was being left overnight!

Good on ya for letting us know the outcome.!...we've all had our "stupid" moments...it's how we learn.!
My problem is I still have them far too regularly...LOL
