30mph in second thats not an Italian tune-up. My Italian 240 will happily go to at least 60 in second - that's an Italian tune-up!

lol! it still doesnt really help though, ive done it on multiple occasions. hence why i think the engine needs tuning or i need a new exhaust system. I'll get it in for a pre-MOT anyway sometime so i can see the real extent of whats going on.

Is there actual smoke or is the exhaust just holed and has got a noisy blow somewhere?

both, i started it this morning, revved it, and the amount of s%^t that came out of it was quite something, and its a bit blowy too. My mate even says i best warm it up before it goes for mot but i really want to get something done about it as it cant be right. Ive already been ripped off by one specialist garage though, so i dont want to be by another one.

It will fail if the exhausts blowing for a start. Could be alot of soot in the exhaust thats causing the smoke. Does it use any water or oil?

doesnt appear to use hardly any oil. Not checked the water so i'll get on that tomorrow sometime. Im not sure if its the engine or the exhaust system

/edit blowing is kind of an understatement, it still nearly blows me over

I REALLY REALLY want to get it through its MOT, because i love it.

Id take it foe MOT, see what it fails on then get the work done. You dont want spend a load of dough on a new exhaust and then have it fail on other more expensive points that you didnt know about.

Does anyone know if a 2 litre system would fit? Ive got a nearly new one in my shed, complete with downpipe. I got it from ebay for £60 but never used it.

I'll get it down to the garage on thursday for a Pre-MOT and see what the score is. Im hoping it doesnt provide too expensive to fix, but its pretty much a throw away car, if it fails on something expensive, i'll just buy another one or get to the scrappy and see what parts i can salvage. But i'll deffo do this thursday now as its my only day off and i want to get it done.
