Default C30 2009 DFP problem and error code P0380

Hello

For the last 6 months about 4 times now, the DFP has (we think) been blocking, car goes into limp mode etc.

Managed to clear the code, and take for the usual drive to clear it.

This time however, after trying a forced regen, it goes to 4000 revs then after a few seconds back into limp mode at 3000.

So, its not allowing the forced regen even - is this because of the fault with either the glow plugs, or glow plug relay?

The only code left still is the P0380, from which I understand is the Glow plug relay, or glow plugs.

Has anyone had experience of this? We are planning on replacing the glow plug relay first to see if it is that, rather than dive into the scenario of replacing the glow plugs but the risk of them breaking!

Thanks in advance. Selling car after this is fixed so really need it sorted.....

Hi
I have a V50 2.0d and for the last 15 years it has had the glow plug relay fault but has not stopped the regen.
I would be tempted to get the codes read with VIDA DICE to get the Volvo codes.
It should also show the frequency of the codes causing the issue.
For 5 years I have only had 1 glowplug working. The regenerations still happened although I do believe the glowplugs do assist the regen.
I would think it is possibly something else apart from glowplugs/relay.
You need the codes read properly before going further.
