Default S40 Fuel Gauge Problem

Hi all,

Recently ive started having trouble with my 2010 1.6D S40 fuel gauge

The fuel gauge tends to read lower than it actually is, the issue seems to arise when I'm lower than half a tank of diesel.

The issue first came when my tank started magically reading 1/4 full, however I was at 1/2 full 20 min before, after stopping briefly the tank went back up to 1/2 full. At the moment the tank is reading half when I know it should be under.

Is this an issue with the sending unit and or the wiring?

I have the VIDA unit so any recommended diagnostics on that side would be appreciated

Thanks in advance
