Default London Low Emission Zone

I mistakenly drove through a few miles of the London LEZ yesterday near Edgeware. I have a 2013 D5 V60 2.4 diesel which I believe is euro 5. Do I have to pay a charge? Should I register my car? The TFL website isn’t clear for fines etc for standard cars

Thank you for any help!

First you need to be precise:

You went trough LEZ or ULEZ?

If LEZ (and judging by lication-thats the case) you are ok. No passenger car is charged, it applies only to commercial vehicles.

If ULEZ- that's pretty much central London. Go to tfl website and pay by card.

Here's map of ULEZ (the one you'd need to pay). If you didn't go within, just don't worry.

It was just the LEZ I went into, nowhere near central London thankfully, the idea of driving in central London scares me

And rightly so!

Anyway, it seems you're fine, as confirmation:

And

Just pop your reg plate in.

Good luck!

Erm..

No.

Not quite.

IF, in some strange way, dhr90s car was registered as commercial- rates for LEZ are somewhat different.

But IF, in some strange way, he'd happen to cross ULEZ zone- it would be £12.50 for ULEZ charge and another £12.50 for congestion charge.

Provided he paid within 48 hours.

If not- it would be £60 for ULEZ charge plus another £60 for congestion charge. Provided he pays within 2 weeks..

If not- it would be £120 ULEZ and £120 CC...

And then more and more..

Is that from date of offence or date of you being notified Thomas?

I have seen the LED signs around Heathrow airport and indeed the entry to the airport terminal 4 I think it was was a good way beyond them. As I sometimes use the 7 seat landrover to pick family up from there it could prove expencive. Family preffer to fly into Manchester these days but Heathrow is always an alternative.

Paul.
