Part came, fitted and it doesn't seem to be the issue.

Here is the issue I am seeing (front drivers / right side in video)

Please explain the issue as both the beams seem to be at the same height, just below the reinforcing bar on the garage door. Are they not supposed to be like that? Sorry if I'm being dense!

They are both the same height correct. But if you look around 3-4 seconds in the video you'll see the left hand side goes "up" and "down" the right hand side stays solid.

Sorry to see that the cheap part did not fix your light issue. However I believe that you can't discount that its a motor issue. I'm unsure if the motors are handed or not, but if not switching left for right it will sharp tell if the motor is duff.

I can't see how someone can supply a part which hugely undercuts the genuine Volvo part and work equally as well. I know folks who buy pattern MAF sensors regularly come unstuck - most but not all.

Cheers

Default [SOLVED] Replaced "AFS Cornering Leveling Control"

After a nightmare we decided to take the chance and replace the xenon headlight AFS cornering leveling control unit.

This is the small chip inside the headlight approx 2 x 2 inches in size. (only other part in there is the ballast which is not this).

I was sickened when I see the Volvo dealer price (around £300) so then I took to ebay and various forums and found for around £120.

I then spoke to a nice chap in a BMW garage (random) who said BMW actually make this volvo part and you can pick them up online ebay etc for £40-£60.

So I did I bought this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/7189312-7...-/323488377701 and fitted it and everything works perfect!

Thanks all

Well done, with buying both parts still worked well and a cheaper repair. Think the guy from the BMW centre deserves a beer.

That is such a valuable piece of information. Who would have known that a part from another make of car was the identical part at a fraction of the price.

7189312 7189311 7182396 7295702 AFS Headlight Cornering Control Unit for BMW.

I put that here so that it is available for search should I ever need one myself
