Default How do I tell which 2.4 lump is in there!?

Hello - this one should be sooooo simple for you!

I'm looking at a 2001 V70 tomorrow; it's a 2.4 and that's all it says on the back - "V70 2.4".

How do I know if it's 140 or 170bhp? I'd assumed that an 'S' would be the pokier one.

Yours gratefully, and hopefully about to get my first Volvo

I bought a D5 recently, I looked in the Owners Manual which directed me to look at the tag on the side of the engine (Left hand side from the front). The manual will have the engine code for which you can verify it against the code on the engine.

I am relatively new here also, please jump in guys if I am talking tosh.

Default reading the vin plate

this will assist you in how to read the vin plate, and therefore identify the engine fitted to the car
