My bad, I thought the T5 was a band G. £175 is pretty good, is your car subject to the old Road Tax system? The reason I ask is that my old car was a BMW 330 which was a band F and it cost £205 for a year.

I think a 2001 car is under the old tax system, 2002 would be the interim rip off scheme, prior to the 2006 complete rip off. My 2001 2.4T is cheaper to tax than my 2002 2.0T.

My T5 is an auto and just shifts off line, well in the dry.

The D5 is manual and you need 3gears to 60.

T5 is quicker , D5 feels quicker , (if you know what a mean)

The D5 is quick and doesnt drink too much, I cant wait to get a powerklick fitted to see the difference.

Is the T5 a band G for road tax? If it is then DAMN £400 next year to tax it, that is more than my insurance.

BOB, how's the new car ?
I'll pass on the PowerKlick to Stephen tonight

Nice one, thanks. I'll pass on the cash to Stephen tomorrow.

Regarding the car, I love it. I have gotten used the colour now, i am really happy with the economy. I have now covered 205 miles since I got it and the fuel guage is just below the full mark, my 330 would have been at the 1/4 in that distance.

I have some teething issues that I have booked the car in to get checked, nothing major. Rubbing \ scapping noise turning full lock left, sight knock when pulling away when you release the clutch and a fault code showing on my scanner P0571.

How did it go with the Rica tuning, is there a noticable increase in power?

Hi Bob

RICA 210 Sportstune, is going well, need to put it up against my T5 side by side. but it pulls very well from 1k round to 4k

put it against a BMW 535d and kept up reasonably well. BM was quicker, but not by miles.

If you need help fitting the box let me know.

I can send you a picture if where it plugs in.

heres a quick how to:
Lift off plastic engine sound cover.
Fuel pressure rail above inlet manifold
Light grey connector on the left hand side (from front)
Unplug and replace with cable from PowerKlick
It is keyed and should only click home the right way round
plug original into female connector on PowerKlick cable
route the cable along the fuel rail toward the airbox
PowerKlick box fits nicely, between the side of Airbox & fuse box
It is set at 9 on the wee guage, which is about enough for the D5 anymore and the engine ECU will get upset

Thanks everyone I think I will go for the D5 and get it tuned at some point, I think the petrol economy will bug me and the lpg option I am not sure about, what did make me laugh is "I have got used to the colour", there are some dodgy colours out there but nice cars!

Cheers

Yeah mate, my car is BRIGHT RED!!!! Takes some getting used to when your previous cars were either white, silver or grey.

I fitted my Powerklick box last night and i havent stopped smiling since, esp since I get around 40+MPG and my car can seriously shift.

Good luck with the hunt, try and get one with the leather interior it is very classy.
