Unhappy Petrol in Diesel Engine Friday 13th

Rushing out of the airport today I accidently filles my S80 D5 with Petrol.
After a mile of so running I got an emergency warning and a loss of power.
I immediatly pulled over and realised the Mistake.
The car was taken by the AA to a Volvo dealer and I am awaiting the outcome.
The Dealer indicated that he felt 'pretty confident' flushing the fuel system and tank would resolve the issue without major damage.
I hope he is right !
The AA advised he has 5 or 5 cases a week of Petrol in Diesel cases. Its
crazy on common dispensers that nozzles are not designed so this apparently common error cannot happen.

Did it twice on my Picasso HDi .... once, allowing engine to conk out on the petrol (didnt realise mistake).
Flushed tank and engine both times, no damage.
Still ran like a dream when I traded in for the S60.

Never made the mistake in all the years prior, or since .... yet
