are you 100% sure its timed correctly? Do you have a code reader - when cranking does it show an RPM - if not id suggest the crank sensor which could easily have been damaged when the timing belt went. are there any codes stored disconnect cam sensor and crank again - does it generate a code (to rule out a dodgy cam sensor) will it run on a whiff of easy start? (to rule out mechanical issues) Have you cracked an injector line when ranking on the key - any diesel? |

Today we bled the system at the filter, bled it at the return, cracked the injector unions and turned over and finally got fuel through. i have had a screwdriver on the injectors with my ear and can hear them tapping but it still will not start.
Crank sensor is new unless it's a dud, could it be the cam sensor?. I am at a loss. |

The cam pulley peg is ok, I am still baffled as I don't now think it's fuel. It's strange but when it tries to fire it sort of locks the engine. Haven't tried easy start yet as my son is on holiday for a couple of weeks. Will give it a try then or try tow starting.

So firing too early you think? Are the injector wires on the correct injectors , Towing to start is like using a sledge hammer you could well cause a lot of damage if you do not know why it is not starting ..

Why?
If tow starting works, what will it prove? If tow starting doesn't work, what will it prove? If you obtained live fuel, rpm, and voltage data during cranking, you'll make faster progress than pushing a dead car around and random guessing.

And thanks for all of the help in trying to sort this. Further to this I have purchased an Icarsoft scanner. I did another check, I have an rpm signal, good fuel pressure. The only fault was the exhaust filter. I disconnected the cam sensor plug and did a check and came up with no fault? I then turned the engine over and it was trying to fire the same without the sensor, I also again recorded no fault. Could it be this cam sensor? Last edited by KJA; Jul 3rd, 2019 at 12:49. |

are you sure the cam is timed correctly. If you have good fuel pressure, i think youve almost ruled that out. I would try easy start to rule out mechanical issues (such as valves etc) |

During cranking.....
What is the maximum RPM? What is the maximum fuel pressure in psi?

Max fuel pressure. 4800 psi
Max rpm 305 although battery requires recharging. |
