I just bought a V70 D5 with 429,000 miles on the clock and am still astonished at the interior condition, and the way the engine pulls for only 163bhp.

If you look after these cars, they will run forever AND for the money you won't find a safer car.
Evening, I’ve contacted you for some prices Re your website, no reply yet

Hi I am new on here and see you are questioning keeping the xc90, I bought brand new in 2010 r design xc90 pre face lift model 2.4 awd 185. I bought it just for a work car, my job is construction and i have had a couple of bmw 4 wheel drives but the xc90 is way better in every way. my xc90 is the only work car i have kept for longer than 3 years, its only covered 38k! as i work close to home on long term projects.it main dealer serviced for many years. Its had 2 sets of tyres and a couple of dealer repairs under warranty, new wheels due to peeling, rear lights moss inside, awd drive sensor of some sort I cannot remember. point is these cars are super comfy, and a great car to drive but not cheap to run. I recently had the mot done the guy said front pads needed doing first set! he did them and I was not impressed with job,so a couple of weeks ago rear brakes started squealing, what to do?well i joined this forum and read how replace the rear brakes and did myself shoes, pads and discs , I had a small issue which was readjusting rear brake shoes. I came back to this forum and read posts and worked through the replies and tried the solutions, none were relevant so checked brake pedal and presto cable detached it looked impossible for it to fall off! but I remembered one rear shoe had locked up so maybe that was the cause. Yes I am waffling but the point is as others have said many of the issues you mention are issues on many cars of this age, and there is loads of help on this forum. I should have replaced my car years ago but it has never made sense the third rows seat have never been sat on and the rears maybe 20 times, the xc90 tows my ifor williams like a trooper and to replace is maybe 50k plus now and frankly the car is in almost as new condition and never fails to look great when cleaned and I love this car! next job replace front discs the mot garage should have done!
