Thanks cheshired5!

Is the VM a separate partition using Boot Camp or a software VM within OSX? If a true VM, could you let me know what you are using, Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion, VirtualBox or something else?

I think I may be your next customer

The VM I have created is a .vdi file which is optimised for Virtualbox and run using either the Windows or OSX version of Virtualbox depending on your system.

It's all quite dull and straightforward compared to the hoops that some people jump through to get a working system.

Hi Cheshire 5

You might recall I bought a Dice from you some years ago, I was using an image of VIDA that another poster had made up. I preempted the end of the subscription by changing the date on my Laptop and all was well until recently when, for some reason it realised that it was out of date... now nothing works... I tried the patch but the patch file was empty and I probably damaged the installation deleting log files that I hoped contained the evidence of the bad date(correct)...

Could you possibly fix me up with a solution, ideally it will be simple for an idiot to install.... i propose to clear all of the existing from the laptop and use a clean install..

xc90 is cranking but non starting at the mo... it occurs to me that perhaps it is out of fuel... but I am guessing fuel pump... either way id like to get it going as I need it to pull the trailer ....

Hi Tony,
Pm me your email address and I'll send you a patch with an 80 year expiry date as reinstalling a working patch could be all that's needed and would take seconds.

I have tried and tested Vida files or a VM to download if you end up needing those.

Default Will these work on windows 10?

Do these readers work on windows 10, if not why not, and how do they compare with the handheld code readers/resetters like the autel stuff which seem a whole lot easier? Thnx

I provide a VM which works with any operating system and CPU that supports Virtualization. I have buyers using Windows 7 and 10, Linux and MacOS
It's the main dealer diagnostics system so nothing else compares.
Whether it's easy is subjective. I much prefer Vida to scrolling through endless menus on a tiny screened handheld reader. Handhelds don't have parts catalogues and workshop manuals either.

A newbie to Volvo ownership.
Just bought a 2004 xc90 d5 and I am now running into problems getting it started. Having read various posts on this forum I am currently making my way through the list of possible causes. It has highlighted the need for diagnostic software, my ELM32 and torque pro app just isn't going to cut the mustard.

How much is Vida posted to Northern Ireland currently @Cheshired5?
I have tried PMing you but I currently don't have enough posts.

I currently run my BMW software from an old Windows Vista laptop but I hope that your Virtual Machine can be run off the same laptop

Thanks,
Anton
