Default Loads of water in the boot spare wheel well area

I noticed, while cleaning the boot of my car yesterday, a lot of condensation on the bottom side of the boot rubber liner. I removed the liner and noticed lot of condensation on and around the handle that is used to lift the black hard board that covers the spare wheel well. I removed the hard board and the spare wheel and then noticed lots of water in the spare wheel well around the battery area, may be 6-7 cups full of water. Don’t really know what might have caused accumulation of such an amount of water!! Had anyone experienced this and share what might have caused this to happen? Thanks.

There is a lot of electrics and electronics in there. I would be quite concerned about that being damaged....

Exactly, that was my concern too!! Spoke to the dealers and they booked the car in for 4 days to look into what might have caused it to happen. IMO, their response was so casual when they said that it is normal for cars to have leaks and water making its way into cars, although I have not experienced that with any of my previous cars...they say all cars do and IMO that is questionable!! They said that even if water makes its way there are drainage panels in place and water should have drained soon after it entered; they say sometimes the drainage holes get blocked with leaves/debris etc and stops drainage taking place. I was informed the warranty would not cover if that is the issue and the panels need cleaning. I found them to be very evasive in giving a response when I asked them what might have caused the issue to occur in the first place. They neither warned me about any risk this could pose on electrics/electronics getting damaged nor did they advise me not to drive the car.

However, out of my own concern, I removed the styrofoam mould where the spare wheels sits in, which meant that I had better access to the area and removed all water using a cloth. After repeatedly wiping and wringing the cloth the water measured almost 7 tea mugs full.
