Question

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread...
Squeaking has been ongoing and with dryer days here really driving me potty to the point I don't want to open the windows.
Booked it in for the third time with local dealership and cut a long story short, have diagnosed it as rear brake pads. Pads are only 50% worn and am expected to pay for them which I think is unfair as issue has occurred well within 'life expectancy' of a set of pads. Mind you I have covered about 7k since first reported so likelihood been squeaking with 70% life still in them. Dealership say warranty will not cover them and given me Volvo Customer Relations number. Anyone had any joy with brake pad problems/approach I should take.

Also while car was in, they diagnosed shock absorber problem which warranty will cover

And finally avoid Volvo Leatherhead at all costs. Write up to follow...

Mine does the same at low speed; think it's definitely something related to the brakes as it's low-speed related.

Might be something as simple as a stone chip stuck somewhere, but will get it checked when mine is next in for warranty work or service.
